Development Scientist and Quality Manager

As the quality manager, Andrew ensures compliance of OMCS’s forensic analysis towards ISO 17025 and Forensics Science Providers: Codes of Practice and Conduct, as well as ISO 9001 certification for OMCS activities. He runs the X-ray computed tomography facility at Begbroke Science Park, carries out scanning electron microscopy / quantitative X-ray analysis and supports research projects e.g. in-situ synchrotron X-ray experiments researching on solidification. Andrew was trained as a materials scientist / metallurgist and his PhD focused on investigating the relationship between grain refiner particles and secondary intermetallic phases in an aluminium alloy, both at the Department of Materials, University of Oxford.
