Insung is a postdoctoral research assistant in the Department of Materials at the University of Oxford, since October 2020. He earned his B.S. from Sungkyunkwan University, M.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in the field of Materials Science and Engineering.
His research interests are in understanding the mechanisms of shrinkage-induced defects in metallic alloys using synchrotron radiation. Outside of work, Insung enjoys watching and playing baseball.
