DPhil Student

I am a DPhil student in the Department of Materials, supervised by Dr. Enzo Liotti and Prof. Patrick Grant. My research focuses on the investigation of hot tearing mechanisms in recycled aluminium alloys using real-time, in-situ X-ray techniques. The project aims to advance the understanding of hot tears nucleation and propagation, a phenomenon particularly relevant to aluminium from recycled sources.
Before joining the Processing of Advanced Materials Group, I obtained a BSc in Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology from Politecnico di Milano and an MSc in Materials Science and Engineering from University College Dublin, where I was awarded the Medal for Academic Excellence for my MSc research project. After completing my master’s degree, I worked as a Materials Applications Engineer in the aerospace industry.
